I’m so excited to introduce you to my incredible team! In the short time I have known them, Inhave seen women that are after the heart of the Lord and love others so well! I cannot wait to serve alongside these sisters!

This is the team that I will do ministry with, live with, do bible studies, and get to love on throughout the year!

The Name

Jehovah-Nissi means God our banner, and that is what we are declaring over our team this year! God is our banner in all that we do, and he comes before us and behind us.

The name comes from a story in Exodus Chapter 17. We see the Israelites battling the Amalek, one of their enemies. When Moses holds his hands in the air, God gives the Israelites victory. When his arms get tired and he puts them down, they begin to lose. So Moses’ friends Aaron and Hur went on either side and held up his arms until the battle was won. After the victory, they made an altar and called it Jehovah-Nissi, the Lord our banner.

This story is such a beautiful picture of the community we’ll be for each other over the course of the year. Already we have created a safe space of vulnerability, laughter and love. We encourage each other through hard times, rejoice in the high moments, and call each other higher when we need it. And when we grow tired, we intercede for one another and bring them to father’s feet when it feels like they cannot stand.

Without further ado, let’s meet the team!

Emma is from Colorado and is such an incredible truth friend! She loves photography and is so witty and wise beyond her years! She challenges me in all the best ways to grow and know the Lord more.

Audrey is a bundle of joy from Minnesota! She’s passionate about the word, women’s ministry, and loving people well! She is so fun to be around and helps to keep our team rooted in the word.

Skylar is a precious friend from Texas! She’s incredibly spontaneous and adventurous, and is always up for a swing dance session or random hike! She adds such a thoughtful and centered perspective to our group, and loves people so well!

Josephine is a strong and hilarious friend from Georgia! She brings such a unique point of view to our team that challenges us to go deeper and see things from other viewpoints. I’m so thankful for her and for the ways God is redeeming her and using her to redeem other’s stories.

Natalie is a kind and funny friend from Texas! Her laughter is contagious and her simple words carry so much wisdom beyond her years! She has an amazing sense of style, and her love for the Lord is so evident in all that she does.

And of course, our fearless leader Emmery! Emmery is from South Carolina and did the 11 month World Race trip in 2021. She has a heart for other people, and is incredibly empathetic and loving to those around her. She is quick to pray, quick to comfort, and so infatuated with the Lord.

These girls already have my heart. I have never been part of a small group where I feel more safe, seen, loved, and valued than this one. From studying God’s word, to doing ministry, to road trips and late night cookie baking dance parties, time with my team is my favorite. I am so beyond blessed to get to do life with them for the next 8 months. God is so good, and he is our banner wherever we go!
