I am headed on a short-term mission trip to Ukraine! Here’s how it all got started and how you can be a part of it!

Backstory:

There’s plenty of words I could use to describe my close friend and teammate Skylar. She’s kind, loving, adventurous, generous, humble, and servant hearted.

Skylar is also a woman of passion. She is constantly in awe and excitement of what the Lord is doing, and invites others into that same joy and reverence. She is so intentional about speaking life, and her heart is so evident in the way that she speaks over things that she loves.

Skylar has been to a dozen countries and has all sorts of incredible stories. But there’s one that comes up often: Ukraine.

When she speaks of Ukraine, she describes a place hungry for the gospel, kind people, full of hope despite challenging circumstances, who live with overwhelming generosity and hospitality. Simply hearing her heart and her prayers for this place grew my heart for this place I’d never seen.

I found myself constantly in prayer for this place, dreaming of these people that I hadn’t yet encountered. So when the opportunity came about to travel to Ukraine with Skylar, it was a clear answer to prayer. To make things even sweeter, our squadmate Deborah had a similar experience with feeling called to Ukraine, and will be ministering alongside us.

In just a few weeks, I have the opportunity to partner with what the Lord is doing in Ukraine. Sandsprings Baptist Church (Skylar’s home church) in the Dallas Area has been ministering in Ukraine for over twenty years. They work with long term local partnerships to provide Vacation Bible School to children and families who may not otherwise have this type of experience. This will allow children to fellowship with one another, play games, make crafts, and receive biblical lessons and gospel presentations. I feel blessed beyond measure to have this opportunity to be a part of what the Lord is doing with some of my favorite people in the world.

How You Can Partner:

How you can pray:

We will be traveling for 10 days between June/July

* Pray for divine encounters and opportunities to share the gospel
* Pray for the hearts of children and families to be softened to receive the good news of the gospel
* Pray for safety for the host families and for all the volunteers
* Pray for revival to start in these communities and spread to the areas around them
* Pray for financial needs to be met for all involved in this trip
* Pray that we are able to get train tickets as part of our travel into Ukraine

How you can support financially:

There is a financial component for this trip that allows me to go and be a blessing to these people! I would be so grateful if you could prayerfully consider partnering with me in this way.

  1. That is soooo awesome, Kailey!
We have four Ukrainian women in our ESL classes at Sugar Hill Church:) My husband has been working with two of them this summer. He’s enjoying getting to know them and is impressed with how hard they are working on their English. One of them lived for 6 years in Spain so when they can’t understand him in English, he resorts to Spanish.
I will certainly keep you in my prayers!
God bless and keep you, Kailey!

Kailey Finley

Hey Friends! My name is Kailey Finley and I am from the Atlanta area! I am traveling with adventures in missions on the Outreach Route this fall where I will travel to Eswatini, South Africa, Cambodia, and Guatemala sharing the love of the Lord and helping in a variety of different ministry roles. This page is where I will keep up with stories about my trip. I am so excited to see all that God has in store for this trip and I am so thankful that you’re along for the ride!
